The enemy wants you to lean on yourself and the world and to stop leaning on God, but if we stop leaning on God we fall so short and end up in a whirlwind. A whirlwind is a column of air moving rapidly around and around in a cylindrical or funnel shape. When you get caught up in an earth based phenomenon, destruction is to follow. When we get caught up in a whirlwind of sin we see turmoil happen in our lives without the thought of the outcome. We easily  become like Peter in the storm when he allowed fear to slip in, we begin to sink. When you begin to sink, panic sets in and the fear begins to take over. When life begins to overflow we tend to lean on our own strengths and it’s not until we let the fear and anxiety slip in and we realize we are fixing to drown then we call on Jesus. How many times do we tend to only call on the Lord when we are sick, have a situation come up that stresses us out and if we can’t find the solution on our own? Peter couldn’t have walked on the water if he didn’t have full faith and step out the boat. If we would be in unity with the Lord and allow our spirit to intertwine completely with the desire of the Lord we will be able to walk in full capacity of our supernatural ability and authority. Peter when he allowed fear to slip in on the water he thought he could rely on his own strength and abilities to withstand the storm; when he couldn’t.  The enemy is waiting for us to open a door that allows him to enter into our minds to plant the thought that we can do it all on our own….In this specific storm, Jesus, just  moments before told the disciples to not be afraid ( Matthew 14:27. ) Peter’s faith was weary and he let the enemy gain access and allowed fear to enter in. 2 Timothy 1:7 We are taught that the spirit of fear is not from the Lord, showing us that Peter’s fear was not from the Lord that it was driven from the enemy. If Peter would have stood in his authority he never would have begun to sink. Don’t allow the enemy to reel you into the whirlwind of sin. If  we do allow the enemy access into our minds we have to take those thoughts captive and cast them out of our minds. 2 Corinthians 10:3 “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. “
